Of course, that's why professional decorators advise clients to start
clipping photos of favourite home interiors before they even think
about decorating their own home.
It's true that when you spend time finding what you like,
you end up being able to separate your own taste
from the trends you see around you...

linen curtains instead of cupboard doors...

Having said that, had I the talent she has; I could have written those same words - as a free spirit who does not fit neatly into a category, I can so so, so relate to what she writes about...
